MelodyBud is an AUv3 MIDI sequencer that offers robust generative sequencing capabilities. Far from the conventional sequencer approach, it allows you to randomize notes, velocity, octave, and gate length on each step. Additionally, features like ratchets and glide further enhance its creative potential.

One standout feature of MelodyBud is its "parameter-locking" functionality. This capability enables users to customize randomization values for individual steps, facilitating the creation of more intricate and varied melodies. To enter parameter-locking mode, simply tap on a step's number located at the top of the sequencer. Once in this mode, the step and control knobs will turn orange, indicating the active state. When editing controls in parameter-lock mode, the sequencer will execute settings specific to that step rather than applying them globally. To exit parameter-locking mode, just tap the step's number again.

Supporting over 40 scales, MelodyBud allows scale changes on the fly while the sequencer is running. When used as an AUv3 plugin, scale adjustments can be made via AU parameters and even modulated or automated alongside other settings.

In its standalone version, MelodyBud integrates with Ableton Link, enabling synchronization with other apps that support this protocol.

Noteworthy to mention, MelodyBud functions solely as a MIDI app and does not generate audio independently. Users must route its MIDI output to another audio app to both sequence sounds and produce audio.
